Academia is a premium Education WordPress theme developed in March 2016 by ThemeXpert, an Envato author. Design
The Academia theme is creative and innovative, with features specially designed for schools, language centers, and other educational websites. The look of this template is styled and clean, with no overwhelming add-ons, so your visitors can focus on the information they need. If you want to test your website in a quick way, you can import the demo which comes with media files and examples of pages and posts.
To help you built the website’s static front page, the theme author created three different styles of homepages which come with distinct layouts and content types. You can design your entire site by adding hues of color from the predefined scheme of blue, red, green, orange or a lilac color.
Academia is a theme dedicated to catching the attention of the ‘Generation Z,’ so the design and the way visitors can navigate through your website are equally important. As an admin, you can organize pages, posts or links into mega menus and select icons to enhance the visual impact and the functionality of your website.
With the Academia theme, you can customize your header to fit your needs. The author provides three predefined styles for it. If you want to modify the footer, you can split this area into up to eight columns, change the background color and add the copyright note.
The flexible Academia template allows you to choose the way to display the sidebar – on the right or left side of your website.
You can choose the Google fonts to style the Header, Body, and Footer texts.

Academia Options panel brings together all the theme’s settings, structured in seven sub-menus, General, Header, Custom Style, Typography, Sidebar, Footer, and Backup.
This template allows you to build pages on the backend or frontend using the premium drag and drop page builder, Visual Composer that comes bundled with the Academia theme. With some extra ‘Page header options’ you can pick an image, a title or a subtitle for that specified area. The template allows you to choose from a list of seven formats to style your posts.
If you want to organize your educative content, Academia theme gives you the possibility to include Courses, Quizzes, Questions or Lessons with the LearnPress plugin. Also, if you are trying to setup a website for a school or university, this template gives you the possibility to edit the ‘Teachers’ area with designation meta and social profiles.
The custom Academia Core and Slider Revolution plugins come with the theme and give you the power to build beautiful pages with stunning sliders.
The theme is compatible with WPML, WooCommerce, bbPress, BuddyPress and comes with more plugins like Contact Form7, LearnPress or The Events Calendar.

Performance
We have tested Academia’s default demo on different page speed tests, and the content loads at a medium speed.
Downsides
The theme doesn’t come with any custom widgets.
The demo takes a long time to import.
The theme doesn’t include a custom translation panel, but you can use .po & .mo files with a language editor or purchase a premium plugin.
