Cubell, an Envato Elite author, introduced Fotomag on the blog theme market, in March 2016. This premium theme is designed to help create a successful website and to publish content with ease. Fotomag is a fresh template that uses a minimalist and glossy design, based on full-width images and very few lines.
Design
The Fotomag theme helps you create a beautiful website no matter what the topic is: from travel journals to gastronomic sites and everything in between. The beautiful imagery will be the main focus of your site.
This template lets you publish video and audio posts, and adds an appealing lightbox effect to all your site’s images.
By default, the theme’s menu and social icons are shown as a pop-up side-menu, and the menus (right and left) can be sticky. You can set a background image to both navigation menus, change their opacity and adjust the font color for these elements.
Functionality
Fotomag comes with a Customizer panel, where most of the options are available, and buttons like the progress bar, author box, comments and more, can be enabled or disabled.
This blog template already comes translated in English, French, and German, in .po and .mo extension files, and can be imported from the theme’s package. Fotomag is using an Ajax Autoload function, and the smooth scroll effect. The template comes with the Vafpress Post Formats UI plugin, adding functionality to audio and video posts.
If you are planning to create an e-shop for your blog, note that the Fotomag theme is compatible with Woocommerce. The template will auto-detect and adapt a site that is using an RTL writing system. Fotomag has a responsive design and will behave well on small devices.

Performance
In our era, time has become a precious commodity. We value a product by the benefits, but we also judge it by the speed it delivers the output. We have tested Fotomag default demo on different page speed tests, and it loads the content with a medium speed.
Downsides
Although Fotomag can create beautiful pages, some functionality issues need to be fixed before we can say that this is a user-friendly theme. When you are on a post with plenty of images, the (side) menu hides behind the full-width image. It is tricky because you have to go back to the main page to access another post or find an area without images to see the menu button. This theme does not provide page templates and layouts, and you can not monetize your website without using your coding skills, as the Fotomag is missing an ad system. The documentation is less detailed than expected, lacking the video tutorials or screenshots.
