Wally is a multipurpose premium WordPress theme, developed by the BlueHookStudio author in August 2016. This template is focused on visual elements that will help you build a blog, portfolio, business, fashion, sports or travel websites. With its creative design, premade demos, homepages, layouts, your site will look beautiful and engaging.
Design
When you buy something new and appealing on the exterior, you expect the inside material to delight you. Wally combines a simple, elegant design with creative tools built to keep surprising you at every step. The theme authors made Wally’s layout responsive and retina ready.
If you don’t have time to create a website from scratch to start sharing your content, you can import demos like The Agency, Cooking Academy, Organic, The Studio or Adventure and spread the word about the brand-new project!
The Wally theme comes with the Massive Panel plugin and a Page Installer submenu to help you build your site by choosing from a list of over 30 beautiful page templates and preset shortcode styles. This system is surprisingly easy to use, and the final results are stunning.
If you already have a strong image of your project’s website in mind, Wally is flexible enough to let you customize every little aspect of your blog.
When a visitor reaches your site, the first thing to notice is the above the fold section. With Wally, you can switch between five header styles to see which fits your content better, especially since the Wally developers enhanced it with a fluid functionality the same as for the bottom area. The footer section can be customized by using one of the two predefined layouts. The header and footer styles can be displayed on the entire website or only on the homepage. In these sections, you can include social buttons, search icon, contact details, make them even more personal use a Call to Action button, URL address, colors and border radius.
The theme comes with six post formats, Standard, Video, Audio, Gallery, Quote, and iFrame. The posts category allows you to choose from five standard styles and three layouts – to make your website amazing. You can also include a download link in your posts if you want to share files with visitors.
With Wally, you can create a beautiful blog and portfolio pages and style them with layouts like a standard, squared, portrait or masonry template. All these layouts can be combined and customized, so finally you have over 20 different designs for portfolios and blogs. From the Wally Panel, you can change the Google fonts and see them in a live preview, to make your choice even faster.
Wally comes with two custom blocks, ‘Wally Posts’ and ‘Wally Search’ you can use on
your pages.
Keeping in touch with your visitors is vital for your website. With the Wally template, you can connect your social accounts, Facebook, Twitter or Google + with the site.
Functionality
The Wally Options panel gives the template’s functionality on the backend of your website. You can make adjustments related to Styling, Fonts, Header, Footer, Portfolio, Blog, Social and other. If you want to see your modifications live, some of the options also appear in the Customizer and can be used on the frontend.
The Wally template comes with the premium page builder Visual Composer plugin, which allows you to customize your pages on backend or frontend.
To add functionality to the website, you can use widgets like Wally Categories Filters, Wally Search, Wally Tags Filter and other on the sidebar.
The BlueHookStudio author has also incorporated in this template the premium Slider Revolution, Ultimate Addons for Visual Composer, Massive Addons for V.C., Wally Theme Initializer, and Advanced Custom Fields Pro. The theme is also compatible with other plugins like Contact Form 7, Disqus Comment System, Duplicate Post, Max Mega Menu.

Performance
We have tested Wally’s default demo on different page speed tests, and the content loads at a high page speed.
Downsides
For those who want to build an online store or advertise their websites, the Wally template isn’t an inspired choice since the theme is not compatible with WooCommerce or any ad systems.
Though it provides explicit screenshots of the backend, the theme’s documentation is less detailed than expected and doesn’t provide a search button.
Unfortunately, if you want to outline your content with a unique typography, you cannot upload your custom fonts or any Typekit fonts.
